These sneakers are great for regular daily use, chasing after kids, walking, etc. I have a different pair of New Balance for running so can't speak to that. They fit great and are very comfortable. One slightly strange side effect for me is that I have had at least a half-dozen people compliment them - I guess that's great but I've never had that happen before! The fact that they are made in the USA is another great aspect.I have trouble finding a shoe that is comfortable, so when I do I tend to stick with it until they no longer make that model. I have been wearing New Balance shoes for years. I usually buy two pair at the same time so I can alternate wearing each pair. I also walk every day up to 10 and 20 miles each day. I have done this for the past 10 months and my New Balance shoes have never let me down.American made shoes that shout America! I don't normally wear shoes of this style but I've been noticing new balance has been the shoe to wear so I jumped aboard. What I like most about these is simply that they are so American! This M998 gives me the best resilience, balance and wear of any I have tried. The navy color looks great with my uniform of jeans. I love the color combination and that's why people just turn their heads on it everywhere. Plus, it's made in USA! Proud owner!Quality was less than expected.Most uncomfortable and squeaky shoes I've ever owned. I wanted to like these shoes. They are unwearable. The squeak is so bad it rumbles my whole foot. It is also very loud and annoying. The right shoe also fit significantly different than the left. The stitching on the sole was different.
